On Thursday, July 11 at around 4:24 p.m., police were called to Bruce Bennett Nissan at 962 Danbury Road for a report of an assault, according to the Wilton Police Department.
When officers got there they found the victim in an upstairs office room. The victim and witnesses told police that the victim was allegedly attacked by his coworker Francisco Serrano, 47, of Norwalk, according to police.
Serrano allegedly placed his hands on the victim's neck in a choking manner and pushed him into a wall, reportedly causing damage to the wall, police said.
The victim fell to the floor and Serrano allegedly continued to use his fists and knees to strike the victim about the face and ribs, according to Wilton Police.
Once employees were able to stop the alleged attack, Serrano left the business, police said.
The victim was taken to Danbury Hospital by Georgetown EMS due to his injuries, police said.
Wilton's Detective Bureau and Norwalk Police Department assisted in arresting the accused the same day at 6:20 p.m. at his home in Norwalk.
Serrano was taken back to Wilton Police Department where he was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
He was given a $5,000 bond which was met at 6:45 p.m.
Serrano is due in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday, July 22.
